A petition requesting the ban on dissecting animals in schools received the support of 137 MPs. The petition that was sent to Parliament claimed that it was “hardening the characters” of those children watching the dissections.

It was revealed that at least twelve of the individuals killed by terrorists in Northern Ireland during July had been tortured before they died. Methods of torture included burning with cigarettes, being stabbed and also being alive when placed in a car that was set on fire.
