David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister, recommended that agreement should be secured at the Genoa Conference to ensure there was a joint understanding about the future situation with Germany. His comments came as there continued to be threats of the French withdrawing from the conference.

There was failure to reach an understanding at the meetings between the Northern and Southern Governments in Ireland over the matter of the London Agreement.
