Chaos continued in Belfast with numerous assaults, including the killing of a train driver who was murdered in the locomotive sheds in Belfast.

Éamon de Valera said in a speech targeted at youngsters, “yours is the faith and love that beget the enterprise of 1916. Young men and young women of Ireland, the goal is at last in sight. Steady all together, forward. Ireland is yours for the taking – take it!”
