The Reparation Commission reported that German’s financial efforts were inadequate and said that sanctions might be required if changes weren’t forthcoming.

A conference of rival leaders in Southern Ireland was called in Dublin, although no progress was made at the first meeting.

The death was announced of Thomas Burt, the first miner’s MP, who had been the Father of the House of Commons from 1910 until 1918.
