Éamon de Valera addressed the Sinn Fein conference in Dublin to speak against the Anglo-Irish Treaty, with Arthur Griffith speaking in favour of the agreement.

The Labour Party won the by-election in Camberwell North taking over the seat from the Unionist MP Henry Newton Knights, who had stood down due to a personal bankruptcy. The seat was won by Charles Ammon with a majority of 1,135 over the Unionist candidate Richard Meller.
