Éamon de Valera condemned the Irish Treaty during a demonstration in Dublin, saying that it denied the sovereignty of the Irish people and was “signed under the threat of an immediate and terrible war”.

A party of special constables were attacked by IRA forces in Clones, with four constables being killed, eight wounded and six kidnapped.

The press reported on the Coronation of Pope Pius XI which had taken place in St. Peter’s, Rome.
