Health Secretary Praises 132 Million Vaccines Given in 2021

Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, has praised NHS workers and volunteers for their help in delivering 132 vaccines in 2021. This included 1.6 million vaccines which were given in the last week of the year, with Javid saying:

“132 million vaccinations in a single year is astounding and a true reflection of the fantastic work of our NHS and its volunteers – I want to thank each and every one of them.”

There have been over 3,000 vaccination sites set-up, including an additional 180 sites added in December 2021. The Government has though struggled to provide enough LFT tests to members of the public, with the Government saying that they were working to increase the supply in 2022.
