The Triple Alliance confirmed that they were instructing their workers to strike and the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen also confirmed that they would be calling their members out and stopping work. Electricians in London also stated that they were prepared to join any national strike.

The Public Health (Tuberculosis) Bill was read for the second time in the House of Commons.

Martial law was introduced in Greece and censorship was reintroduced in the country.
