A trial of Sinn Fein members came to an end in Glasgow, with nine of the sixteen accused being punished to between five years’ penal service to twelve months imprisonment.

Arthur Griffith-Boscawen was selected as the Coalition candidate for the by-election in Taunton. The only other candidate in the by-election was to be James Lunnon from the Labour Party.
