The media reported that it was expected that Austen Chamberlain would take on the leadership of the Unionists members in the House of Commons, following the resignation due to ill health of Andrew Bonar Law.

The Kronstadt rebellion against the Bolshevik regime was brought to an end, an uprising which Lenin said was the worst crisis that the Bolsheviks had yet faced.
