Forty women led a march in Belfast which ended in violence and the stoning of a police station. Later on in the day there were also three petrol bombs thrown at a military vehicle in Raglan Street in the city, but the members of the armed forces were unhurt.

Anwar Sadat (in main image above), the President of Egypt, said that his country would no longer agree to extended Middle Eastern ceasefires and said that they would now fire if their territory was threatened.
