It was announced that electricity prices would rise by up to 20% for customers in the South-Western Electricity Board area of the country.
Milton Obote (in main photo) was overthrown as the President of Uganda, being replaced by Idi Amin, the Commander of the Ugandan army.
A series of strikes called by staff at Triumph’s Coventry plant were called off after management said that they would agree to further talks on pay.
