Barclays Bank have confirmed that their staff are safe and unhurt after a series of attacks on their branches by Greenpeace. Greenpeace activists have caused damage to branches of the bank across the country in a bid to prevent staff from safely opening, but Barclays said that no staff have been injured in the attacks. The bank did though ask Greenpeace to stop targeting their staff and customers.
Barclays said in a statement:
“Greenpeace has a view on these issues to which they are completely entitled, but we would ask that – in expressing that view – they stop short of behaviour which targets our customers, and our colleagues, going about their lives in communities around the country.”
