UK Unemployment Falls to 11-Year Low


UK unemployment has fallen to 1.65 million people, 4.9% of the workforce, which is the lowest figure for 11 years. The figures relate to the March to May 2016 period, before the referendum vote to leave the European Union.

The number of people in work also rose in the same period by 176,000. Earnings also increased by 2.2% over the previous 12 months in the figures released by the Office for National Statistics.
