Heathrow Decision Delayed by Government

The Government has confirmed that the decision on whether Heathrow should get a third runway has been delayed following the resignation of the Prime Minister, David Cameron.

The decision was due to be announced on 7 July 2016, but the Prime Minister has delayed the decision so that his successor can decide how best to deal with a lack of runway capacity in the south east of the UK.

Two of the contenders for the Conservative leadership, Boris Johnson and Theresa May, have already spoken of their opposition to Heathrow being expanded.
