Scottish Parliamentary Election Results 2016
The results have now been announced for the elections held in Scotland on 5 May 2016. The SNP were unable to gain an overall majority in the Parliament, coming just two short of the 65 seats they required. The Conservatives performed strongly and moved into second place, ahead of the Labour Party.
There were 129 seats with the following results:
SNP – 63 seats
Conservative Party – 31 seats
Labour – 24 seats
Green – 6 seats
Liberal Democrats – 5 seats
