David Cameron, the Prime Minister, has confirmed that he intends to stay as an MP after the 2020 General Election. He has already confirmed that he intends to retire as Prime Minister before the General Election but hadn’t previously given an indication of whether he would stay in the House of Commons.
Speaking on BBC Radio Oxford the Prime Minister confirmed, when asked if he would stay as an MP:
“That is very much my intention”.
“I love being MP for Witney and am very keen to continue. I draw huge strength from being a Member of Parliament in Oxfordshire”.
