The Conference at San Remo continued in a bid to find a lasting peace in Europe, amidst fears of German rearmament. The press reported that as the conference entered its last stages that the allied leaders had agreed on a text that would be sent to Berlin, which would insist on a complete German disarmament and an honouring of the Treaty of Versailles.

Election authorities said that they would investigate following the revelation that a 13-year old had voted in the previous day’s by-election in Sunderland. The candidates had gone around the constituency canvassing during the day, before going to watch a football match in the afternoon.
