BBC Report that Complaint Made Against Priti Patel When Employment Minister

The BBC has reported that a formal complaint was made against Priti Patel when she served as an Employment Minister, and before she was sacked as the International Development Secretary for breaches of the Ministerial Code. Sir Philip Rutnam, the Permanent Secretary at the Home Office, resigned and made serious allegations about the Home Secretary, who is yet to respond.

Jon Trickett, the Shadow Cabinet Office Minister, said in a statement:

“This is an authoritarian regime failing in basic administration whilst threatening vital institutions such as the judiciary, BBC and now senior public servants. The Prime Minister must come to the House of Commons to answer Sir Philip Rutnam’s allegations without delay.”
