Police have confirmed that they have arrested 19 demonstrators at numerous protests across the country organised by Black Lives Matter. The protests caused an ambulance involved in an emergency call to be temporarily delayed in Birmingham which had been blocked by the protesters’ road block. The protesters did though allow the ambulance through after the delay.
The authorities have been able to remove the protesters and Heathrow has said that it is doing what it can to offer assistance to those caught in the delay. The police confirmed that:
“The motorway network around Heathrow Airport is open and operating as normal”.
In a tweet on Twitter, Black Lives Matter said:
“To be stuck in traffic is an irritation. To be denied justice for decades is a crisis”.
